Just about everything. We chose to stay here because long ago my dad and my aunties went to school with the man who established the hotel. The business has changed hands a couple of times, but what a good thing was started, and what a good thing they are continuing now. Staff make or break a place, and the staff here are great. Whether we were dealing with people in reception, the restaurant, breakfast, or the bar, everybody was friendly and helpful. The food was excellent - except perhaps for the sausages being served as part of the breakfast buffet: they were not the best in terms of taste and quality. We dined in the restaurant twice during our stay, and on both occasions the food and service meant that next time we come to Inverness, we'll be looking forward to eating in the restaurant again. The room we stayed in had a bath. To be clear, I mean the bath was next to the bed, although separated by quite an effective, low, partition. Didn't expect the bath to be there. At first we were like, wut? But then I got the gf some bubble bath and I couldn't get her out of it. In theory, it is weird, but in practice, it was not. I didn't try it myself, but the gf turned into some sort of prosecco-obsessed mermaid. I was lying on the bed with my headphones in listening to the football, and I can hear her splashing about. It was surreal and also wonderful. Don't worry - there is also an en suite shower room. I doubt all of the rooms have baths in them, so if you want that, I suppose you'll have to ask for it.

Our stay at Glen Mhor set our first trip.to the Highlands, and to Inverness, off with some style. Friendly and helpful staff (special mention to Fraser!), spacious and comfortable room, delicious food (both at breakfast and at dinner - the Cullen Skink Confit Lamb Shoulder and Beef were outstanding) and an excellent location. Another bonus is having the brew-stillery, Uile Bheist, attached. When we told the various people we met during our time in Inverness where we were staying, they all nodded and agreed it was a great place. A couple of snags which we brought to the hotel's attention (e.g.net curtains at the windows for privacy in the ground floir rooms) but nothing that would stop us coming back again. It was fabulous!

My room was located at the front of the hotel, the view of the river was wonderful and contributed greatly to my positive experience of staying here. The room itself had lovely wooden paneling around the window, high ceilings, and plenty of space. Facilities within the room were fine, with a large comfy bed and good shower. The hotel location is perfect, only a five minute walk away from the centre, but far enough to ensure a quiet stay with minimal road noise. Huge breakfasts with plenty of choices, great to have a taproom on site with some good, if not quite to my taste, beer. I would certainly come back here for another stay, providing they had availability of rooms with a river view.

Loved our stay at Glen Mhor Hotel which is ideally situated on the banks of the Ness, with a lovely aspect, and only a short walk into Inverness. We paid for a river side view, and had a large well appointed room, with a nice powerful shower. The Hotel has a modern bar, with a great selection of whisky's and craft ale (brewed on site), and the staff were lovely, and very accommodating. Breakfast is fantastic, large selection, good quality in a light airy room overlooking the river, and again the staff were very attentive. All staff from reception, to the bar to the restaurant were a real credit to the hotel.

Scott

Very good location on the river Ness. Slightly farther out from the direct city centre, which is nice as it is away from the crowds. If you walk along the river out of the city there are many trails to explore and it was perfect for a runner like me. Very comfortable beds, nice to have a brewery right downstairs. Beer is good and the scotch will eventually be good (I hope!).
